Taylor & Jesse
Let me start by saying this day goes down as one of my most memorable days as a photographer and earned itself one of these very fancy (and difficult to create) blog posts. That's right! Welcome to my very first blog entry. If you're reading this that means I might be tech-savvy enough and I think it must have worked... and disclaimer, I put punctuation wherever I feel like it and grammar police don't come for me :)
I decided to blog this day because of the way it left me feeling even after it came to an end. My hour long drive home afterwards was the calm after the storm - a beautiful storm of course (aside from the two table centerpiece fires haha). But the calm after the storm is what I call the moments after a long wedding day where I take a deep breath, get off my feet for the first time all day and I drive home in silence and have time to just reflect on the day...and boy did I! I was overwhelmed with gratitude and just high on life. One of those nights where you're ready to pop the SD card in and start sifting through the images. I didn’t know how I would share a collection of my favorite moments with you all but 10 slides on instagram wasn’t going to cut it. So I hope you enjoy this recap of the best day ever!
Jesse and Taylor got ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. While the girls were glamming, the guys spent the morning watching Nebraska football. Shortly after Taylor put on her gown, we made our way down to the street where she revealed her GORGEOUS self to Jesse in front of the historic Hotel Kansas City. Something about this moment happening in the chaotic environment of the downtown street was so beautiful. Because even in the hustle and bustle Jesse and Taylor acted as if, in that moment, they were the only two that existed in the universe. So much emotion and tears my heart could hardly take it. The two of them then read their vows to one another and cue more tears! I also heard Jesse saying something along the lines of "I promise to always pay for your botox." You're the MAN Jesse! Directly following, we loaded the party bus and adventured around town for bridal party photos at Union Station, family photos at Liberty Memorial and stopped at the bar where Jesse and Taylor had their very first date. They even sat in the same booth AWHHHHH.
As if this day couldn't get any better.... Taylor surprised Jesse with a classic Pontiac GTO to roll up to their ceremony in style. The ceremony began in the courtyard of Cherry Hall where they had violinists playing and their dogs, Romeo and Juliet as honorary ring bearer and flower girl. As the ceremony was coming to an end and they were exchanging their vows, Jesse was asked to say 'I do' to which he responded....."F**K YA I DO" and they exchanged the most epic kiss.
Following the ceremony was the most stunning boho-chic reception of your dreams. Pompous filled centerpieces, champagne towers, confetti and the band Post Clarity - the most fun band ever (already hiring them for my wedding). To top it all off Taylor did a swing dance with her father to Shania Twain and at this point I was too stunned to speak. Talk about some show stoppers!
These are just a few details of their day and they don't even begin to describe how intentional and perfect it was. However, I am hoping these images will.
Enjoy a little recap: 8/27/22
xoxo - Ry
